I’m back in Burnaby and back at work after a quick visit to the Okanagan for Christmas.
Christmas time is pretty crazy, there’s so much to do in so little time. For example, today’s dragon ‘Becker’ is named after one of my oldest friends whom I’ve known since kindergarten. He and his family live in the Okanagan…and my visit with him this holiday consisted of an all too short phone call!
Most of my holiday time this year was spent with family. If you’ve been following my blog for a while, you might know that I come from a big family…and by big family, I mean any Christmas dinner with fewer than 25 people in attendance is considered ‘small’.
This year it was a small Christmas, I think there were about 20 people at my brother’s place for dinner – then a few more showed up on Boxing Day.
It turned out that Dec. 27th was our big day with about 30 people celebrating with a round of gag gifts. (I ended up with a book containing the first 40 year history of Coronation Street…not by my choice)
Despite that, it’s always hard to leave ‘home’ and family, especially when I have to be one of the first to leave. But I’m glad for the time I had with each and everyone over those few days.
On a side note…we were able to celebrate Christmas with my niece Caitlyn she has finished her tour in Afghanistan and is home safely!
It’s been a long day, and I’m off to bed.
