Daily Drawing 759 – 537 AD The last battle of King Arthur

Dragon 556 – King Arthur lunges into the battle on his faithful steed Llamrei.

I was a little surprised to see King Arthur mentioned in the events of the 6th Century. I guess there’s evidence to suggest that he was a real king and that he died in 537 AD at the Battle of Camlann. Although no one knows exactly where this battle took place.

When it comes to dragons, Arthur Pendragon makes a good subject…just for the name alone. Pendragon is Welsh for “Chief-dragon” or “Head-dragon”. Despite the name, according to legend Arthur never battled a dragon, but he did dream he was a dragon in battle.
