Daily Drawing 789 – 829 AD Egypt

Dragon 584 – Anguta, a great arctic dragon, visits Egypt and brings the cold with him.

In 829 AD the Nile River froze over for the first time in recorded history. It was not the only time it froze over, it froze again in 1010 AD.

I made the mistake of starting this drawing without really knowing what I was going to draw. I didn’t do any thumbnails and I had no idea how I was going to place the dragon in the boat, or even what he might look like. Then there was the challenge of making it feel cool on paper with a yellow tint. I kind of want to have another go at this one.
