Daily Drawing 790 – 832 AD Ireland

Dragon 585 – The tower in the center of town was the last the to fall in the sack of Clondalkin

Clondalkin is situated about 10 kms west of Dublin. It was sacked by the vikings in 832 AD. But no damage was actually done to the tower in the center of town. In fact that tower, built in the 8th Century, still stands today. The tower is complete today with no mention of any restoration having been done to the cap, which could mean that it is still the original roof from the 8th Century!
