The first day we visited the Louvre, we never went inside. It was the day of our long walk that started at the Eiffel Tower, went up to the top of the Arc de Triomphe, down the Champs-Élysées to the grounds of the Louvre. Of course by the time we reached the grounds, we were ready for a break, so we found ourselves a small cafe (Cafe Renard) and stopped for a wine.
As we continued our walk towards the Louvre, we came across a boot camp…I picked up one of these chairs…they’re heavier than they look.
The outside of the Louvre is as interesting as the inside, there are fountains and statues everywhere.
We could have spent hours just wandering around outside taking pictures.
There was so much to see everywhere!
Even as the day came to an end and we headed back to our hotel, there were sights to be seen everywhere.
Such as a rusty vase on a side street.
Or a monument silhouetted in the dusk light.
Next…we go inside the Louvre!
