From Paris we travelled to the Palace of Versailles. It was a bit of madhouse inside as bus loads of tourists were walking through in large groups simultaneously. I still managed to get a few photos that I was quite happy with.
Once gaining entry into the larger galleries the crowds didn’t seem quite as bad as when moving from room to room. There was also a modern art display in the palace that included large piñata and heart shaped things hanging from the ceilings…as well as a feather covered helicopter, and giant high heeled shoes sculpted out of pots and pans.
The colours and decorations were at times almost overwhelming.
Of course, this wasn’t the first time I’ve been here. Back in the early 90’s my and my friend Chad toured around Europe. It was pre-digital cameras, so the pictures aren’t fantastic…but just for laughs here’s one from the Hall of mirrors 90’s style.
